Stephen G. Canton

Senior Partner

Steve is the Senior Partner of Anacostia Ventures. He’s responsible for oversight on all structured financing. Steve has a demonstrated track record of successful turnarounds, taking companies public, and leveraging disruptive emerging technology against the large brands in the technology space that places those companies as the most valued with regard to exit values. Steve has served as Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States Advisory Board, Chairman & CEO of iCore Networks, Member of the Board of Directors for WBB, a Washington, DC, defense contractor, Member of the Board at Excel Communications, and is currently serving as Chairman of Energywarellc.com ENY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist: 2014 & 2015 Education: – Regis College – University of Michigan School of Business for finance & accounting – Harvard Business School Executive Management Program for global sales distribution

Michael S. Bertamini

Partner

Michael is currently the Managing Partner of Anacostia Ventures. Michael oversees operational oversight for Anacostia’s portfolio of companies and is an active board member. Michael is the former CEO of EnergyWare, an Anacostia Ventures portfolio company. Before founding EnergyWare, Michael was the Chief Sales Officer for iCore Networks—a private equity investment that was sold to a strategic buyer for 92MM, which represented a net return of 6 times invested capital to shareholders. Michael and his business accomplishments have been featured in several media outlets and awards programs, including Inc. Magazine, The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC)’s Hottest Management Team Award, and Helios HR’s Apollo Award, to name a few. Michael has also been recognized and awarded Smart CEO’s Executive of the Year Award.

Norman J. Harrison

Vice Chairman

Norman is a Managing Director at Kroll based in Washington, D.C. As a former corporate attorney, investment banker and investment fund principal, he advises on disputes arising at the intersection of regulation and the capital markets. He consults with companies on internal investigations; transactional disputes involving financing and M&A transactions; investment advisor compliance and disputes; and corporate governance and fiduciary duty issues. Norman has participated in more than 100 public and private equity and M&A transactions totaling billions of dollars in transaction value. He served as Vice Chairman and Audit Committee chair of iCore Networks, Inc., a highly successful hosted unified communications company founded by Mr. Canton and sold to Vonage Communications in 2015. Norman is an honors graduate of Georgetown University and the Georgetown University Law Center.

Stephen G. Canton

Joseph is the CFO of Anacostia Ventures. He brings extensive experience across technology, healthcare services, and investment banking. Prior to Anacostia, Joe served as CFO of Kiswe Mobile, a direct-to-consumer streaming technology platform, and previously as CEO of Varsity Care Adult Health Services, where he led a buy-and-build strategy in senior services. Earlier in his career, Joe held senior investment banking roles, including Managing Director and President of Evergreen Advisors Capital, and Managing Director leading the Telecommunications and Media group at Friedman Billings Ramsey. He also served as an investment professional and acting CFO to Capitol Acquisition Corp. (NYSE: CLA) during its acquisition of Two Harbors Investment Corp. (NYSE: TWO). Joe began his career at Arthur Andersen, where he was a founding member of the Corporate Finance Group. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland, is a CPA, and holds Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 registrations.
